STOCK PHOTOGRAPHY FROM PICTURES OF NATURE

Despite being relatively small compared to the big national and international slide libraries, Pictures of Nature Photo library is continually expanding. The site search facility will allow you to search through most of my stock portfolio; although some images may not be online so if an image is not available online please email me and I will try to help you on the matter. If I do not have the stock photograph you are looking for, I can go out into the field for you (for no extra charge, if subject UK based) or as I know many semi-professional and professional photographers, as well as agencies, which represent me, I will pass your request onto them to see if they are able to help you in your search. Even so there is an extensive collection of wildlife and landscape images to satisfy the requirements of most of my clients. In addition I can provide you with a personally tailored, quick, reliable service which most of the larger stock libraries are failing to provide.

There is no search fee charged for genuine picture enquiries and the images online are sharp, correctly exposed and available at any size requirement needed. Only the very best pictures taken by Andrew will be offered, but personal service is assured and suggestions will always be made. Pictures of Nature has accumulated considerable experience by being within the market place for photography and if you are unsure of what type of subject or location to meet your requirements, suggestions can be made.

Reproduction fees are done by negotiation and are tied to image size, print run, exclusivity, territory etc but in all cases the fees are fair and realistic. Typically sales are for one time, non-exclusive use of the image, but any usage can be negotiated. To obtain a price quote email me at stock@picturesofnature.co.uk. Be sure to provide the use, circulation or quantity being printed, placement of image (cover, inside etc.), size of image (full page, half, quarter, etc.), and language and countries the publication will be distributed. Please also include your contact details.

Licensing and Prices

As stated above Images are available for Rights Managed (RM) licensing (also known as Rights Controlled or Rights Protected or 'Traditional' licensing). This means the licensing of an image at any one time is specific to:

  • type of use (editorial, advertising, corporate etc)
  • medium (magazine, book, brochure, etc)
  • final size of reproduction
  • print run of medium (if applicable)
  • language(s) and territory(ies) of distribution of medium
  • duration of use required

The price for licensed use of a particular image will also depend to some extent on:

  • the uniqueness (or otherwise) of the image
  • degree of exclusivity of use required
  • how high-profile the intended use is likely to be

Images are not available for 'Royalty Free (RF)' licensing (or for 'Multiple Use' licensing, or 'Flat-rate' use) and are generally licensed on a per use basis. Nonetheless, all uses are negotiable. The majority of the on-line images are Standard Rights Managed, available for a wide variety of uses, and for non-exclusive and exclusive use. A license for use of an image may be non-exclusive (Not Rights Protected) or exclusive (Rights Protected):

Non-exclusive (Not Rights Protected):

  • The buyer must specify: intended use, media, size of final use, print run, territory and duration.
  • The buyer pays a licence fee for each particular use of an image, but another buyer may also purchase and use the same image under the same type of licence and for the same kind of use at the same time.
  • Pricing is based on intended use, media, size of final use, print run, duration and territory. The territorial pricing may be negotiable with regard to the specific country.

Exclusive (Rights Protected) :

  • The buyer must specify: intended use, media, size of final use, print run, territory and duration.
  • The buyer pays a licence fee for each particular use of an image, but may ensure that the same image is not used by their competitors by obtaining a degree of exclusivity for the intended use.
  • Rights protection can be an advantage for high-profile projects such as ad campaigns and promotions.
  • Pricing is based on intended use, media, size of final use, print run, duration and territory, and for this type of licence varies depending on the terms requested - typically licenses with exclusive terms may cost 20-30% more to guarantee exclusivity for a particular use.
