In this section of the website I will be looking more closely at some of the wildlife subjects that Pictures of Nature has in its stock library and I have had the pleasure of photographing. The majority of the Case studies are aimed at wildlife within the UK, however as Pictures of Nature's stock expands to more international subjects these will be included in the case studies.

RED DEER
The Red Deer is a majestic creature which the majority of us associate with the Highlands of Scotland. However, due to the removal of the Red Deer's only natural predator, the wolf, deer are now beginning to overpopulate areas leading to problems for the natural vegetation of the land. OTTER
The Otter is one of the most threatened species of mammal in Europe. After years of man killing otters, directly or indirectly, their numbers have dramtically reduced. However they are growing again due to new protection being brought out. RED FOX
Foxes are re-nound for their hunting skills as many books have clearly them in a stereotype of the ‘cunning fox’. A foxes only predator is man, estimates vary but the latest figure shows that around 50,000 foxes are killed by man each year either through hunting and shooting or via road kills. Even so, there seems to be very little effect on the population size. More >>
